The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened its recruitment portal for the 2026 employment exercise, inviting suitably qualified Nigerians to apply for entry‑level and professional positions across Grade Levels 07, 08, 09, 10, and 12.

🎯 Purpose of Recruitment

INEC states that this exercise is aimed at strengthening its institutional capacity in:

  • Electoral administration
  • Voter registration
  • Data management
  • Election logistics

This supports the effective discharge of its constitutional mandate.

📌 Available Positions

👩‍⚖️ Professional Cadre (GL 09, 10, 12)

  • Accountant
  • Clinical Officer
  • Lawyer
  • ICT Officer
  • Engineer
  • Quantity Surveyor

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum), Master’s degree (where applicable).
  • Relevant professional certifications (NBA, COREN, NSE, NIQS, ICAN, ANAN, CPN).
  • Minimum of 2 years post‑qualification experience.
  • NYSC discharge/exemption certificate.
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem‑solving, and ICT skills.

🗂️ Administrative Officer II (Registration Area Officer – GL 08)

  • Bachelor’s degree / HND in Social Sciences, Humanities, or Sciences.
  • NYSC discharge/exemption/exclusion certificate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management.

🖥️ Executive Officer (Registration Officer – GL 07)

  • NCE or equivalent qualification.
  • Good knowledge of computer operations, data handling, communication, and organizational skills.

✅ General Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Present a valid certificate of state of origin signed by LGA chairman/secretary.
  • Be certified physically and mentally fit by a government medical officer.
  • Be under 35 years of age at the time of application.
  • Be of good character with no criminal conviction.
  • Be willing to serve in any part of Nigeria.
  • Demonstrate integrity, discipline, and commitment to public service.
